“Violet has survived dangerous situations before, but she quickly discovers that protecting those closest to her is far more difficult than protecting herself.”
This is a series I started back in high school, I loved the first three books and finished them all within a week. However, I never finished the series/read the finale book.
I always find it sad when finishing a series that I fell in love with, it feels like losing a few friends when you have to end the story with characters you have come to love.
The Series:
The Body Finder
Desires of the Dead
The Last Echo
Dead Silence
The first and second book were my favorites of the series just because they kept a consistent story line that flowed well and had many surprises.
The twists in both the first and second book about who was actually behind the murders really surprised me both times! Derting plays with foreshadowing in a way that makes you think you know who the killer is, but you actually know nothing.
The third book was a bit harder to handle in that it took on a way more serious tone with the murders and have Violet herself kidnapped by one was pretty intense.
The third book brought a definite shift to the overall tone of the series so I am eager to see what the fourth book entails.
Dead Desire:
Like I said I LOVED the first three books so I am hoping to also rate this one high on my all time favorite reads.
I’m hoping it wraps up Violet’s story in a way that leaves her future bright and maybe less filled with dead bodies.
My own personal preference is for her to end up with Jay so I really hope nothing happens to their relationship and that the mini/ somewhat weird love triangle happening with Rafe is resolved.
Stay tuned for my review of Dead Silence coming next week!
