Friends in the Library

Have you ever craved having a friend that reads the same books you do and falls in love with the same characters and stories?

Well that is definitely something I lacked growing up. My friends found me as the weird one because I always had my head in a book or would be perfectly content to stay in on Friday night with a new book I have been waiting to hit the shelf of our school library. It wasn’t until I got to college and informed everyone I actually wanted to pursue a degree in English that people stopped thinking it was weird how much I read and how quickly.

A lot of my friends still today aren’t huge into reading. They’ve read all of the basics; Twilight, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson,Hunger Games, and a few classic literature they were forced to “read” for class. I’ve been begging them for years to attempt to read some of the series that I am obsessed with so I can have at least one person to obsess over them with.

Leisurely reading has always been a huge part of my life and the fact that there is a stigma about being a “book nerds” is so 2016. People can judge all they want but there is something about the feeling with connecting to others through written words of imaginary worlds so incredibly different from the one we find ourselves in.

Creating a Community

This is exactly why I wanted to create this blog in the first place. As a place for people without a lot of friends interested in reading so that do you have group that you can gush about the latest supernatural romance with.

Finding a Friend Along the Way

Recently a close friend of my mine mentioned my Forrest of Literature Instagram page to me without my knowledge she even knew I ran the account. She mentioned one of the books I posted about and how she had no idea I had read it and was waiting to find someone to freak out about it with. It was really awesome to find someone in this figurative forest I always imagine readers are lost in just adventuring through different stories until you find a friend along the way to discuss a book that means a lot to you making it all the more amazing.
